2011 Taiwan New Year's Countdown

To celebrate and welcome the 100th Anniversary of Taiwan, an unprecedented countdown celebration will be held in the evening of Dec 31st, 2010. It will cover the areas of Taipei International Flora Expo Dajia Riverside Park Area, The Grand Hotel Taipei(Yuanshan Hotel), Dazhi Bridge and Keelung Riverside Area.

There will be fascinating performances, splendid fireworks, and fabulous visual arts coordinated by Lin Hwai-Min (林懷民), the choreographer and also founder of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, co-working with 5 famous experts including Lin Keh-Hua (林國華)-artistic director of Cloud Gate Dance Theatre of Taiwan, Cai Guo-Qiang (蔡國強)-world famous contemporary artist and curator, Wang, Chia-ming (王嘉明)- director of youth theatre, Leo Cheung (張國永)- award winner of Hong Kong Best Stage Light & Sound Designer and Jennifer Wen Ma (馬文)- a member of the Olympics Opening & Closing Ceremony committee as well as special assistance from Academy Award Winner & instructor of the 2004 Athens Olympics Opening and Closing ceremony, Gregory Breakell and artistic director of Ilotopie’s Water Fools, Bruno Schnebelin. Visitors definitely do not want to miss the fun and shows by these eminent masters!
This mega 2011 Taiwan New Year's Countdown will be a breakthrough. Integrating the precious landscape and nature resources of along the Keelung Riverside, a 120m-long “Fountain of Hope”, and the world’s largest 200m-wide water screen will be seen on the New Year’s countdown celebration at Dajia Riverside Park making a new page in the Taiwan’s history.
