About Taitung
Taitung is famed for its fascinating nature wonders, indigenous aboriginal cultures, precious Jhihben Hot Spring, as well as offshore islands: Green Island and Lanyu (Orchid Island). The mysterious Green Island is a small volcanic island in the Pacific Ocean about 33 kilometers away from Taiwan, which is famed for its significance to Taiwan history, precious natural sceneries, and uncontaminated environment, while Lanyu (Orchid Island) is the offshore island that lies about 60 kilometers off the southeastern tip of Taiwan and is also the home of the Yamis (Tao). Baxian Cave (Eight Immortals Cave), Sanxiantai (Terrace of the Three Immortals), Siaoyeliou (Xiaoyeliou), Wu-Lu Ancient Fort and many other Taitung attractions are also wonderful to explore for one’s Taitung travel.
