Located at Dalongtong area, Taipei Confucius Temple was designed by famous architect Wang Yi-Chuan; Taipei Longshan Temple is another notable piece of work by him. The temple is to devote to the memory of Confucius for his spirits and philosophies of Confucianism.Taipei Confucius Temple is a grand scale of work, occupying a total area of seventeen thousand and one hundred ninety square meters, with construction area of four thousand and six hundred twenty-eight square meters. This grand establishment was by the civilians.The Confucius Temple is now noted as Tier-three historical site of Taiwan, visitors are able to see the beautiful preserved paintings and architectures. A black plaque with words in gold lettering the significant philosophy of Confucius that reads “Educate without Discrimination” displays at the main hall of the temple. Every year on the 28th of September, a grand ceremony with traditional music and dance is performed to honor the great sage, Confucius.
