Maokong

Situated in Wenshan District of Taipei City, Maokong is a popular attraction for all ages. In old days, with its unique landscape, prosperous water impact, and dent hole, Maokong was well-known for its tea industry. Taiwan has always been a country famous for productions of high quality teas. The only two places that produce Tie-guan-yin tea are Shimen and Maokong; Maokong is noted the best. This famous Tie-guan-yin tea is derived from its prosperous landscape.

Nowadays, Maokong is notable for beautiful day and night views of entire Taipei city together with good teas and cuisines. Visitors may also explore Taiwan tea culture at the tea museums here in Maokong, understanding the transformation of tea and experiencing picking tea.

Other than beautiful views and good teas, Maokong has several trekking paths along fabulous sceneries. In weekends, many trekkers visit Maokong for explorations of the nature beauties and visit nearby attractions. Locating in a convenient location of suburban Taipei, it is close to National Chengchi University, Taipei Zoo, Zhinan Temple, Bitan and many others. Visitors can easily visit Maokong and nearby attractions by public transportations. Overall, Maokong is a great place for relaxations and gatherings.

    By Car:
    1. National Highway No.3(國道3號), exit Wanfang offramp(萬芳交流道), drive along Muzha Rd(木柵路), Muxin Rd(木新路), Zhinan Rd(指南路) to National Chengchi University(國立政治大學), drive along Zhinan sect 2 and 3(指南路2~3段) to reach Maokong.

    By MRT:
    1. Take MRT Muzha line(捷運木柵線) to Wanfang Community Station(萬芳社區站), transfer mini bus route 10(小10) to Maokong directly.

    By Bus:
    1. Take bus route 236, 237, 282, 611, Zhinan 1(指南一路), Zhinan 2(指南二路), Zhinan 3(指南三路), to National Chengchi University(國立政治大學), transfer mini bus route 10(小10) to Maokong directly.
