Located in Da Jia Township, Taichung County, Da Jia Jenn Lenn Temple is the religion center of central Taiwan worships Mazu and the locals call it Mazu Temple. Da Jia Jenn Lenn Temple was built in 1770. As the count of pilgrims grows, the Temple was rebuilt in 1980. With the Chinese palace-style, the architecture is furnished with statues of god, elaborate wood carvings, painting decoration. Now, this ancient temple is a well-known one. The Culture Building right by Da Jia Junior High School is a Chinese style architecture offering agora, executants saloon, exhibition, library, cultural museum and chamber.
The highlight of Da Jia Jenn Lenn Temple is the patrols and pilgrimages in lunar calendar March every year, the birth of Mazu. Over 100 thousand pilgrims come to join the tour from Da Jia Jenn Lenn Temple to Hsin Kang Feng Tien Palace in Chiayi, traveling more than 200 kilometers on foot for 8 days and 7 nights.
