Hualien South Park

Located at the southeast of Hualien City, the Hualien South Park covers over a 20-hectare land next to the Pacific Ocean. It runs adjacent to the ocean, and is in total 920 meters long. A biking route was also runs the whole length for you to enjoy the sea while biking or rollerblading. Looking at either the ocean or the mountain ranges on the other side, the sights are both magnificent to appreciate. The park consists of a bridge over a flowing stream, with grassy banks and pavilions build in the distance. Many statues of marine animals are placed randomly around the area. Trees, flowers, and grass would put you into a daydream. There is a long walkway that is made of marble, which is Hualien’s abundant mineral. Fishing, shell hunting, or strolling are all relaxing activities to be done at the beach. You can also fly your kite with many others on the open grass area. Hualien South Park is divided into sections of: the Coconut Garden, the Camping Site, the Horse-riding Club, the Children's Playground, the Holiday Sea Resort etc; a focus on amusement facilities for the families and friends to come.

At night, a section of the park turns into a lively night market, which is the Nanbin Tourism Night Park.

Directions :

By Car :
From the old Hualien Train Station, to Zhongshan Road, then turn right on Haibing Road and go straight towards the destination.

Public Commute :
1). From Taichung, Su-ao, or Taidong and take the Taiwan Coach.
2). From the old Hualien Train Station, take the Hualien Coach which goes towards the harbour, and get off at Haibing Road or Yashihdu Station.
