Hsinchu City God Temple

Hsinchu City God Temple
Also known as the "capital Cheng Huang Temple", the Hsinchu City God Temple is the highest ranking City God Temple in Taiwan. It is said that the Hsinchu City God Temple is the chief protector of Hsinchu. As a spiritual center, this Taoist Temple is lavishly decorated with traditional Chinese Temple architectures.

In front of the Hsinchu City God Temple is a series of local food stalls and eateries that are said to offer the signatures of Hsinchu flavor. When a local Hsinchu citizen is inquired about where someone can find local Hsinchu food, the answer is often right outside of the Hsinchu City God Temple. The famous Hsinchu specialty foods include Hsinchu rice noodles, Hsinchu meatballs, and Hsinchu meat pocket. All of which are found right at the market of food stalls outside of City God Temple. In addition, there are also a variety of other Taiwanese snacks such as oyster omelets and braised pork rice. The most famous place to enjoy Hsinchu flavors is right outside of City God Temple.
